Hey!

Elder Barboza is doing a lot better this last week. Basically, he can do anything as long as we don`t have to run or walk fast to do it. So I have kind of been adapting to doing things more slowly.

AND something really cool that we just found out about is that Hna (Hna=hermana=sister) Cruz just got her papers for her marriage and right after she told us that, she said that her husband, Rogelio, didn´t want to marry her anymore (33 years together: they are practically married without a marriage certificate) but my compa and I went over on Friday and blasted him with the Holy Ghost and now he is willing to marry her! And he even assisted the church yesterday! We are ALMOST THERE! :D Hna Cruz and her daughter are hiding from us and not answering their phone or their door right now and they didn´t go to church yesterday even though we arranged to have a member pick them up. So that is kind of sad but we are going to try and get in contact with them this week to see what we can do for them.

But I do have a question. Where did you meet this rm who was from my mission that you guys got to talk to a little bit? That would be a good story to hear. And it´s true what he said about there being a couple of pockets of disobedience in the mission. It makes being obedient kind of annoying and difficult and even awkward sometimes but I think that I am going to be ready to handle anything. I have developed a lot of character this change. Nobody under my supervision (just my comp right now) is going to be disobedient. Thank you guys for putting my name in the temple. :)

I have also been keeping track of miracles on my mission and because of that, I have noticed a little bit more how much God has blessed me.

Also I like 2 nefi 33:1 because I am really not that great of a missionary but I am glad to be an instrument in the hands of the Lord.

I´m sorry, I have no time this week.

I love you guys!

Love,

Elder Froelich

Hey!

We didn't really know why P-Day got changed. It just kind of did. But for now on, P day will be on Monday usually unless they change it again. They just switched the phones around in the whole mission and set fines for calling people that you are not supposed to call because I guess that there were some missionaries breaking rules.

This week has been pretty good. Elder Barboza had a heart condition before he came on his mission and lately it has been acting up and he gets tired really easily so we have had to slow down a little bit which is kind of difficult for me because I just want to go out and work but my comp's heart is bad so we can't really work as hard. So I sometimes feel like it's his fault that we can't work hard but, really, it is out of his hands. But he has called the mission nurses and they are helping him out. So hopefully everything works out. I sometimes forget what a blessing it is to have perfect health almost all of the time. The worst thing that I have every had was a nasty cold or a sick stomach but to actually have an organ in my body that doesn't work that way that it is supposed to would be frustrating. So, mom and dad, thank you for giving me good genes. :)

Esperanza and her daughter Esperanza didn't get baptized on Saturday because they just got cold feet and didn't feel ready even though they know that everything is true. So that was a little bit frustrating because at that point, it is completely out of my hands and I can't do anything more than support them and teach them. And the papers of Cruz are proving to be very difficult but we'll see how that works out. Thank you for praying for her. In Mosiah 27:14 it says that god answers our prayers in accordance with the faith that we have. So if we do not pray with faith, we will not receive anything. So, thank you again, Mom. Probably all of the baptisms that I have had have been because you have been praying for me. :)

And I was going to play violin for the ward conference yesterday to accompany the youth but then the person who was loaning me the violin told me that the bishops daughter of the ward that is right next to ours plays viola and so she asked this other person and she let me use her viola. Shoot. I have never seen such a beautiful instrument since I have come on my mission. You can imagine how I sounded after 9 months of not practicing and I thought it was a train wreck but the spirit helped me out a lot and maybe helped out the sound waves as they were coming out of the viola but just about everyone told me that I did an amazing job and that they souls were filled with it and everything so that was really nice because a lot of people don't lie to make you feel better so it was pretty sincere. :) I'm excited to get good at the piano too because you don’t have to be that good to be good here and I can play Creo in Cristo pretty well right now.

And that is way awesome that Janeen got her senior fotos taken. I showed that school picture of her that you guys sent me for Christmas to Elder Barboza and he's in love her now. For sure send me pictures. And That Sarah is dominating violin and is going to be taking lessons later is awesome as well. Make her practice! She will hate you now but will love you for it later. And that you guys are beautifying the yard with terraces and trees and everything will make it so that I won't even recognize the place when I come home in a year!

Right now (and yesterday because the problems with Elder Barboza's heart peaked last night so we were just chilling in the house all day) I am reading Jesus the Christ and, in a nutshell, Jesus Christ lives and we would not be able to do anything without him. We would have been sent to the earth only to die, be damned, and drowned in our own sins if it hadn't been for him. And Talmage is such a smart person. I don't even know how someone can be so smart. And I have to get going. Have an amazing week and read the Book of Mormon (which will cause you to have a good week. I don't have time to go into it but basically 3 Nephi 13:32-33.

Elder Froelich

Hey!

Yeah, it was too bad that you guys were not able to call me back after the phone line booted us off the first time. I don´t really have a lot of time today but I will try to fit in what I can.

Elder Barboza is good. He is from a city in Northern Peru that called Hayan which is named after some city in Spain. Right now, he has 5 months in the mission.

Hna. Cruz is still having problems with her fe de edad ( I don´t know if there is a document like it in the States). She and her husband are having problems with that and we don´t know if the problems are going to be solved before this Saturday which is when their baptismal date is set for. So we will see.

We are still teaching Hna. Luz Esperanza and her daughter and they still have a date set for this Saturday. So far, so good. So we will see how that goes.

And also, it looks like I am going to be able to play a violin for some youth presentation in Sacrament meeting that they are going to have on Sunday. So that is fun.

But I have to go.

Have an amazing week!

Elder Froelich

Hey guys!

How are you guys doing? This week was great. I loved it so much. We had transfers On Wednesday and I got a new companion! His name is Elder Barboza and he´s one of the three elders in the mission that are from Peru. It´s really nice because he treats me like a real person. So I am really excited about that. He kind of has a hard time getting up in the mornings but he´s a good guy.

Something else that is pretty notable is that Elder Ronfeld who was my step dad in Canquixaja is now the new assistant! I didn´t really appreciate him at the time as much as I should have but he is a really, really great guy and he will make a great assistant. Cruz wasn´t able to get her papers because the people that she needed to obtain her birth certificate again need to be where she is from and she said that they weren´t going to be able to come until today. So today she should be able to get her papers and so we might be able to have the wedding and baptism this coming week. And we found this other person named Esperanza and she is really great too. We have a baptismal date with her for the 14th and her daughter (also named Esperanza) came to church yesterday and so we are going to start teaching her too.

And the interviews with the president didn´t happen. They were originally scheduled for Tuesday but then the assistant called and postponed them for Friday because pres had to prep for the change conferences and so I came on Friday but the hermanas were all there getting interviewed and since hermanas have a higher priority than elders, (which is how it should be) I got pushed back until today. But President already called me (personally, even!) and told me that he is going to interview me today after internet with lunch and everything! I am having lunch with the president! So I am pretty excited about that.

Right now with the changes in the ward because of the changes and everything, it is kind of frustrating because we don´t really know what to do because it is just really uncoordinated and kind of frustrating but we´ll figure that all out.

And I got sunburned this week too! Because of interviews that we had on Friday night and the president being busy, we got driven home by the assistants (Ronfeldt) and we got home at around 11:30 which means that nobody was able to tell us anything so the other companionship in the ward called us at 7 and told us that we had to be in the chapel at 8 for some stake primary activity called "Splash." So I forgot to put on sunscreen because we had to be at the chapel at 8 and so, consequently, I got a little bit burned. But don´t worry about it. I´m already almost completely cured.

And thanks for the advice Mom. I will try more this week to lean more on the Lord and try to follow the Spirit and stay close to it better.Thank you guys for your prayers! They help a lot.

Love, Elder Froelich
