Hey!
...
Yeah, my comp is
Elder Monasterio. I just got him on
Tuesday he is new on the mission and only has about 4.5 months on the mission. He is a tired person but is cool. I can´t really complain.
Also, I am
falling in love with Colotenango hard core. It is going to be hard to leave this area. Now I am learning how to speak Mam with real
(even though basic) sentences and they appreciate it a lot. It is pretty amazing how much they appreciate
that I am learning their language. AAND
the other day I made a tortilla that was almost perfectly round (it´s harder
than it sounds).
I was kind of
getting worried about dying energy-wise for my last change but it is not
happening at all! I have been praying so
that God would give me the energy and will to work hard until the end and it
worked very well. I am just an energetic
and excited about missionary work as I ever was! It is amazing how simple things like fasting
and praying can bring about such a notable and amazing change.
Also, this week I
have been reading in Jesus the Christ. Something
that I liked was the comparison that it makes between pleasure vs happiness. The world is full of people looking for
pleasure which leads to feels of guilt or remorse when you remember it. Happiness, on the other hand, it what the
Church and Gospel are designed to help us live and bring about. Happiness is what you do according to what God
wants you to do and as part of the reward for what you do, God gives you
feelings of happiness and peace. Whenever anyone who has ever experienced true
happiness remembers all of the times that they received happiness, they are
filled with a degree of that same happiness that they felt when they did it the
first time. So that was something that
was interesting and cool to realize and read.
The Chapel was
supposed to have been finished a long time ago but because of some hold backs,
it looks like they might finish it in this month. And our investigators are not looking all that
well right now. They are all starting to
lie and not come to church and not complete with their commitments. So we are starting to look for some new ones
but we will see how that goes. Prayers
are very much appreciated. I know that
they are working because I am not bummed about it at all which means that God
is helping me to not feel down but prayers are always appreciated. J
...
Have a great
week!
Love
Elder Froelich
