2012 Jan 9PM

Hey!

That is good that everyone is getting back onto a good stable schedule, and exciting that you guys had your intense top secret interview from the government. I think that it would be fun to have an intense interview like that someday but I don´t know if in the line of work that I am planning on that I will be able to do that (I am just planning on being a surgeon and I don´t think that I need anything but confidentiality on peoples personal problems). Speaking of being a doctor, my comp has had a whole lot of appointments with Doctors lately because of health problems that he had before the mission. We went to a Dentist today (which was crazy and fascinating at the same time-she drilled a whole in one of my comp´s teeth and then with a small needle had to try and pull out gunk that that built up there. It was kind of eerie too look at because thinking of a needle going up one of my teeth like that would have completely killed me because of the pain (he had his teeth nerves killed because of an accident that he had about 4 years ago)). I actually saw her use that special drill thing and I say parts of his teeth fly off as powder. It was pretty crazy. And I was talking with her and she said that to be able to be a pediatric heart surgeon that it is no walk in the park. First, you have to graduate as a regular doctor, then you have to specialize in surgery and then you have to specialize in the heart and then you have to specialize in children´s hearts. BUT I´M EXCITED. So we will see about how all of that goes.

It seems like the Elders that are in your ward are really pilas. That´s good to know. I have always kind of wondered what it would be like to be in a states mission because the culture here is really different and the people here think really differently.

This last week was pretty good. My comp, like I mentioned, has been kind of sick this last week so we have been having to come down to Xela to Doctors appointments but what are you going to do right? I don´t really know what the exact problem is but it has something to do with his tooth. He also had a random fever this week so we haven´t really been able to leave the house too much. But we are being very blessed for what we have been able to do.

But we have been doing pretty well lately. We fasted on Sunday and there were 2 new investigators who came to church all by themselves. So that was pretty awesome that that was able to happen. We are for sure going to baptize in this month and if not in this month, in this change.

One pretty crazy thing is that we moved houses on Wednesday. The other house was for sure not working out at all and so we had to move. It was not a fun experience and it was very stressing and I would like to not have to do ever again but it was very necessary so I don´t regret it.

On Friday, there was a conference for all of the people who had trained this last change and so me and Elder Posas went there. It was kind of stressful getting there, though because even though we left with plenty of time to spare, we got on the wrong bus (it said Xela but it didn´t say for what part of Xela) so I got there kind of scatterbrained because we were about 8 minutes late and I don´t like being late. So it started off pretty crazy. But it ended up being pretty awesome because I thought that I was doing a pretty crappy job training, or at least that i could have done better, but it turns out that I had been doing pretty good. At the very end, the president had us do role plays in front of everyone. First, the assistants did it with some of their investigators and then the president said that one of us were going to do it as well but I did everything (including looking at the floor) to not be called on but the president still called on us. So we did it and the lesson wasn´t spectacular or anything-just like an average one but it did go pretty well and everyone liked it a lot. Haha, but that was about the only real teaching situation that we had (other than on buses and stuff) because my comp has been kind of sick lately. But it was a good experience.

Well, I have to go.

Love,

Elder Froelich
